Sandblasting and Etching
Chemical and sandblasting on glass are two forms or decorative glass work all glass artist should know about. Lectures and demonstrations using possative/negative, computer and custom art work will be covered. Techniques for masking, carving and shading will be developed with hands on projects for students to complete. While this is a structured learning class students will complete a final project on 1/4 safety glass. Cost $185

Glass Bead Making Class
Jewelry making with stock beads from local craft stores has become very popular. In some respects it’s a little to popular for serious jewelry crafters. Students looking to be creative and make their own custom glass beads will learn the basics of glass bead making and techniques. . During this one day class students will complete several beads and experiments to take home. Shop tools and supplies are available during class.

INTRO TO STAINED GLASS Students will learn about copper foil assembly, glass cutting, soldering, terminology, types of glass and design techniques. During the first stage of this course, participants will work on an 8" x 10" glass project. The focus of the second stage will be on using advanced tools such as circle cutters, strip cutters, glass drills and lead. The conclusion of the class will cover the fusing, bending and melting of glass by having students work on two experimental joint fused glass projects using quick fire kilns. Course fee includes all consumables and in-class use of all necessary tools. Class limited to 16. $80 tuition and NON-DISCOUNTABLE $50 lab and materials fee is included in the course price.

Lead Came Lecture Learn the technique of lead came through lecture and demonstration. During the 2 hour lecture the instructor will discuss lead design, leading tools, leading preparations, came soldering and cementing while the insturctor complets a small window. Students will be able to assist and test their skills to help them generate questions and answers. Prerequisites knowledge of glass terms, copper foil work and cutting skills.

INTRODUCTION TO CUSTOM GLASS BEAD MAKING This introductory class is geared to crafters as well as bead jewelers. Students will learn how to melt Italian glass rods using torch heads and map gas to form unique glass beads. The focus of the course will be on the basics of glass bead making, including materials, preparation, safety and techniques for forming simple beads. Participants who take this fun and informational class will be inspired to add custom glass beads to other work such as earrings and necklaces. Course fee includes all consumables and in-class use of all necessary tools. Class limited to 8. $75 tuition and NON-DISCOUNTABLE $40 lab and materials fee is included in the course price.
